How do I make an enquiry? You can phone us on 01655 889919 or if you prefer, you can use our on-line enquiry form or alternatively, just email enquiries@coila.com specifying the date, location and times of your function, if you know them. It's useful if you include a phone number, where we can contact you and discuss your requirements. Enquiries are always dealt with promptly. How do I make a booking? Once we have discussed you needs and you wish to make a definite booking we will issue you a contract, which includes all details about the booking. Once we receive from you a countersigned copy of the contract, you are officially booked. Are you an agency which will supply a random mixture of musicians? Absolutely not. Alistair and Willie have performed in Coila for 15 years, with Gavin joining the band a few years ago. We take pride in providing a consistently high quality of ceilidh which comes through years of experience playing together. Can you provide a disco? As we are all professional musicians, we prefer to concentrate on providing high quality live music, which is what we feel we do. However, we can put you in contact with a disco or co-ordinate with a disco organised by yourself. How much does it cost to book the band? The fee depends on the length of the gig and how much travel is involved. Our charges are in line with other ceilidh bands. Contact enquiries@coila.com or make an on-line enquiry for a quote. Do I need to pay a deposit? No, however a cancellation fee is payable if you cancel the booking after it has been confirmed. Information is provided in the contract. How far in advance do I need to book you? The further in advance the better. We take bookings up to 2 years in advance. Friday and Saturday nights are the most popular, so book early to avoid disappointment, as they say. If you do not yet know the date of your function, we can give a list of dates for a particular period when we are free. How far do you travel? Although we are based in Ayrshire, we regularly travel throughout central Scotland. If a very long journey was necessary then we would require overnight accommodation. Generally when we play abroad, we fly from Prestwick or Glasgow airports with the client arranging flights and accommodation. There is a particular tune/dance that I want you to play, is that possible? Certainly, just let us know what it is. Can I come and hear you? Yes, just let us know where you are and we can make arrangements for the next time we're in the area. Very few people at my function know the dances, is that a problem? No, not at all. Do you bring all your own sound equipment? Yes. We have high performance BOSE equipment, which can deliver a powerful sound without being too bulky. Are you loud? We supply enough volume for the dancers while allowing guests that want to sit and chat to do so. If you want more or less volume, then let us know on the night. Does Gavin have a girlfriend?
